I love old instructional videos, they're always slightly unsettling even when it isn't analog horror, so they make for perfect analog horror content when done right. They definitely nailed that here.

The fact they repeatedly say to no look back and follow instructions at the end there when talking about the exits does not indicate to me that you think these rumors are as unfounded as you say.
One thing that could be symbolism here, is that Cerberus in the Greek myths would happily let souls enter Hades, but would tear to shreds any of those who would dare exit, and Pandora's jar(?) let loose all bad things that happen into the world. Pandora herself was said to be clever too.
I know in most retellings it's a box, but in some older sources it seems to be a jar of some sort, so I wasn't sure what exactly to put at the time I commented.
